Night-streams (06':20", stereo)
This was my first electroacoustic work, composed during the second year of my undergraduate degree at City University.
During the composition I consistently moved away from the original sound identities, towards a more abstract environment. The only explicitly source-bonded sound is the voice, which introduces a strong human presence in an otherwise 'cosmic' setting. The title refers to the particular state of mind that prevails during lonely sleepless nights: the profound feeling of being alone in the universe.
In 2003 the piece received a prize in the Residency II category of the Bourges International Competition of Electroacoustic Music, which led to a residency at IMEB the following summer.
